Vacation Bible School enjoys good turnout
Senior pastor Greg Dickerman is happy with the turnout for Saipan Community Church’s Vacation Bible School last week.
He said the five-day activity, held from July 11 to 15, averaged 88 participants despite the rainy weather.
Participants ranged in age from as young as 3 years old to early teens and all of them enjoyed the VBS’ daily dose of fun-filled activities like arts and crafts, games, singing, skits, and memorizing bible verses. Participants were also tasked to take part in daily challenges centered on Bible truths.
Prior to the start of the VBS, organizers set out to raise $200 to donate to a school in the Philippines devastated by floods. Dickersman was happy to announce that they exceeded that with a total of $402.53 raised.
The senior pastor said the weeklong VBS wouldn’t have been possible without the help of his wife Sandy, associate pastor Roger Abe, and the more than 50 volunteers who took time off from their busy schedule to help out.
He also extended kudos to Micronesian Brokers, Inc. for donating ice cream during VBS’ Friday session. Participants were given certificates for taking part in the VBC last Sunday inside a packed Saipan Community Church.
