Gold academy starts junior program

The International Golf Academy will be starting its junior golf after school program on Monday at the Laolao Bay Golf Resort.
Classes are being offered to both beginner and experienced golfers.
The first session will last for one month with dates of the September and October classes to be announced at a later date.
Students will receive on course instruction in proper full swing form with wedges, drivers, fairway woods, and drivers from experienced Professional Golfers Association of America and PGA Hole-In-One record holder Mancil Davis. The program estimates a 4:1 student teacher ratio.
Davis and the IGA team will also cover putting, chipping, sand play, golf etiquette, and mental toughness. Students will also undergo video analysis and club fitting during the program.
Classes will be divided into two age groups. Students in the beginners 6 to 19 age group will attend the Tuesdays and Thursdays classes from 4pm to 5pm. Registration fee is $320 per student. The classes in the 11 to 18 age group will run from 5pm to 6pm on the same days and cost $300 per student.
Experienced players in the 6 to 10 age group will have their session on Mondays and Wednesdays from 4pm to 5pm for $280, while the 11 to 18 age group will hold classes from 5pm to 6pm for $260.
Meanwhile, residential full-service short-term junior camp is also being offered for $1,100 a week; $2,000 for two weeks; $2,800 for three weeks; and $3,500 per month. Room and board, English and Mandarin-Chinese lessons, PGA golf training, and meals are all included in the package.
The academy also has a 10-month program, which includes room and board, golf instruction, and schooling.
For private lessons, a one-hour individual session is available both for juniors ($50) and adult golfers ($85), by appointment.
A series of four one-hour individual lessons ($150-J/$255-A), individual private lessons with analysis ($80-J/$150-A), and even a private nine-hole playing lesson ($105-J/$175-A) are also available by appointment.
Other miscellaneous services include club fitting for $50, 30-minute tournament clinics for $3 and an introduction to Golf Tour for $45.
